Which services do Niche offer?
Niche offer decluttering, organising and styling services, however we pride ourselves on being able to assist clients with any organisational challenge that requires solving, wherever we can. The service we provide is completely bespoke for each of our clients, so if you are unsure about whether we can tackle a project with you, please just ask us.
Will you make me throw things away?
We will not make you throw anything away, instead we support you to consider your belongings and whether they enhance or detract from your life, so that you can come to a decision about whether or not to keep them. We will encourage you to think about how you use, enjoy and store the items in your home or business space, to assist you in deciding what you want and need to retain, or part with. Niche specialise in finding creative storage solutions for the items you wish to keep.
How do I book a session with Niche?

Which areas do Niche cover?
Niche currently offers In-Person Sessions in Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire. Travel to addresses located out with the city limits is charged by travel time, where the standard hourly rate (or percentage of this) will apply. Niche also offer online sessions – please contact us to discuss your requirements.
Do I have to be there during a session with Niche?
You will have to be there for the duration of the initial session, so that we can establish how best we can assist you in your organising journey and plan accordingly. After this, your level of involvement is up to you. Some clients prefer to be present during the whole process and others are happier to dip in and out, or even to wait until the work is done so that they can experience that reveal moment when they see the finished project. If we require you to stay for the whole session, we will let you know in advance.
Things are really out of control and my space has become very messy, will you judge me?
No matter how bad things seem to be, we will never judge you, so please do not worry. At Niche we are here to help and support because we know how easy it is for things to become unmanageable when life is busy, or when your physical, mental or emotional health has been compromised. Once everything is in order, it is likely to be much easier to manage going forward and you should notice a significant improvement in your overall wellbeing and ability to cope with your space. At Niche we also offer Maintenance Sessions to help you keep things in order in the future.
I am a bit nervous about someone I don’t know being in my home and touching my things – won’t that feel invasive?
At Niche we understand that inviting us into your home can be a daunting prospect and are mindful of this, as well as being respectful of your space and your belongings. We do not take for granted the trust that clients place in us working together and appreciate how difficult it can be to allow someone into your private space and the courage this may take. In advance of our initial visit we can discuss any house rules that you would like us to observe and we will only carry out tasks that we have jointly agreed with you. We work at your pace and are highly intuitive to our client’s needs, so will usually know when it is time to stop for a break or give you some time alone. We aspire to offer all of our clients a positive and uplifting experience in having us work with you and are sensitive to your environment and feelings about us being in your home or workspace.
How long will it take to declutter and organise my space?
Each decluttering and organising project is different and the time it takes to complete will depend on the size of the space and the amount and type of items to be organised. It also depends on how quickly you make decisions and how much support you need to do this, as we will work at a pace you feel comfortable with. For some projects we will provide an estimated quotation before work commences and adjust as the work progresses, for others the scope of work will be more obvious from the start and sessions can be agreed and booked from the outset. We can discuss your requirements in a complimentary discovery session and take it from there.
Will you take away the items I no longer want?
Yes, we can take away items you would like to recycle, or pass on to charity. If there is a specific charity you would like to donate your items to please let us know, otherwise we will take them to Shelter or Cancer Research UK. Niche cannot remove waste from your property, we can however assist in organising collection for you and can offer advice on any items you wish to sell.
I share my home and office with other people and we don’t agree on how things should be organised - can you help with this?
Yes we can, because we understand that there is no one size fits all where organising the space we live and work in is concerned. Niche can assist in finding solutions that work for everyone using a shared space, taking into account their differing wants and needs in a sensitive manner. We are highly experienced in working with neurodiversity and also with clients who have very full homes. If required, we can signpost to specialist support services.
Will I need to buy new storage items?
There is no need to buy new storage items unless you want to and we can work with whatever you have. At Niche we aim to reduce waste, recycle and reuse where possible and it is always fantastic to see existing items repurposed in client’s homes. If you do wish to replace the storage you have, we would be delighted to design and source solutions for you, as well as making suggestions for disposing of the items you wish to replace.
How do I know that my privacy will be respected?
At Niche we consider your privacy and the confidentiality of any information you share with us, to be of the utmost importance and we take the protection of this very seriously. We do not divulge details of our clients or the work we do with you, to others, unless required to do so by law. A copy of our Insurance Certificate and Data Protection Policy is provided at your first session.
